SmileInspector Launches After FDA Clearance
SmileInspector, a web-based clear aligner treatment planning software for orthodontists and dental laboratories, has officially launched out of beta following FDA clearance. The platform combines AI-assisted automation with full manual control, allowing users to create optimized treatment setups in under 30 minutes.
After an extended beta period with selected clinics and labs, the software is now publicly available to customers in the United States and internationally, supporting both in-house aligner production and outsourced case design workflows.
The system enables users to generate complete treatment plans, including tooth movement staging, attachment placement, IPR setup, and model preparation for manufacturing. In addition to aligner setups, SmileInspector can be used to design retainers and night guards, allowing labs and clinics to manage multiple appliance workflows within one platform. Automated tools accelerate case setup while preserving the flexibility required for complex clinical scenarios.
The platform runs entirely in the browser and requires no local installation. It supports export-ready models compatible with thermoforming, 3D printing, and direct aligner printing workflows.
SmileInspector includes a web-based portal for case management, along with doctor and patient viewers for treatment review and approval. The system also provides white-label capabilities, allowing dental labs and clinics to use the software under their own branding.
SmileInspector was presented at LAB DAY Chicago 2026, where the company demonstrated the official release version following FDA clearance.
Free trial cases are currently available for new users who want to evaluate the workflow.
